Overview
Fitnshine is an on-demand booking app for beauty, wellness and fitness services. Customers can book hair, beauty, nails, spa treatments and fitness sessions from one app, and professionals receive and manage those bookings on their side. Sodio built the platform — the customer app, the professional app and the booking engine between them.
Bringing so many categories into one app is harder than it looks, because each one books differently. A haircut takes a fixed slot, a spa treatment can run much longer, a yoga or fitness session may be booked as a series, and a bridal appointment can take most of a day. The booking engine had to handle all of them without the customer having to think about any of it.
For professionals, the app is where their working day is organised: the services they offer, when they are available, and the bookings they have confirmed. Customers see only the slots a professional can genuinely take.

The client wanted one app for the personal services people book regularly — beauty, grooming, wellness and fitness — instead of a different app, salon number or instructor contact for each.
The brief was a two-sided marketplace across many service categories: simple for customers to browse and book, practical for professionals to manage their availability, and dependable enough that a confirmed booking meant the professional would actually be there.
/// Our Approach
We built one booking engine flexible enough for every category, rather than a separate flow for each. Every service carries its own duration and requirements, and availability is calculated from the professional’s schedule and the length of what is being booked — so a two-hour spa treatment is never squeezed into a forty-five-minute gap.
The professional side was designed around control. Professionals set the services they offer and the hours they work, and the app only offers customers slots they can genuinely take. That keeps confirmed bookings reliable, which matters more in personal services than almost anywhere else: a missed appointment is a wasted afternoon for someone who planned their day around it.
For customers, the experience was kept simple across a wide catalogue. Services are grouped by category, professional profiles show what each person offers, and booking takes the same few steps whether it is a haircut or a yoga class.
