Horizon – Interest-Graph Community Platform

A Bengaluru-first community platform connecting people through shared interests, clubs, and real-world experiences.

Community Platform Mobile App Social Discovery

Overview

Horizon is an interest-graph community platform built by Sodio for PathoraHub Ventures, designed to help people discover and connect through what they're genuinely interested in — not just who they already know. Instead of a traditional social feed, Horizon is structured around four core primitives: Members, Clubs, Ecosystems, and an underlying Interest Graph that maps connections between people, communities, and shared passions.

The platform launches Bengaluru-first, giving members access to curated clubs and experiences across thirteen distinct interest domains, starting with Travel & Lifestyle and Events & Occasions. A tiered membership model lets Horizon serve everyone from casual explorers to power users deeply embedded in specific communities, while keeping the experience personal, curated, and locally relevant.

Horizon combines social discovery, structured community-building, and real-world event participation into a single, cohesive platform designed to feel less like a feed and more like a map of the people and passions around you.

/// The Brief

PathoraHub Ventures approached Sodio with a vision to build a community platform that goes beyond generic social networking, one structured specifically around shared interests rather than existing personal networks.

The goal was to design a platform where members could discover clubs and ecosystems aligned with their genuine interests, participate in curated real-world experiences, and build meaningful connections within focused, well-organized communities — starting with a Bengaluru-first launch before expanding to additional cities and interest domains.

Key prioritize included:

  • A structured, interest-first discovery model rather than a traditional social feed
  • Support for multiple membership tiers with clear value differentiation
  • A scalable architecture capable of supporting thirteen interest domains
  • Strong club and ecosystem-level community management tools
  • A curated, quality-first launch strategy focused on Travel & Lifestyle and Events & Occasions
  • A foundation built to scale into new cities and domains post-launch

/// Our Approach

Sodio worked closely with the PathoraHub Ventures team to translate a complex, multi-layered community concept into a clear technical and product architecture.

We designed the platform around four core primitives, Members, Clubs, Ecosystems, and the Interest Graph, creating a system where every interaction, membership, and community connection maps back to a member's genuine interests rather than surface-level social signals. This interest graph became the backbone for how Horizon recommends clubs, surfaces relevant ecosystems, and connects members to each other.

We implemented

  • A four-tier membership system with clear feature and access differentiation
  • An interest-graph data model connecting members, clubs, and ecosystems
  • Domain-based content architecture spanning thirteen interest categories
  • A Bengaluru-first launch framework prioritizing Travel & Lifestyle and Events & Occasions
  • Club and ecosystem management tools for community organizers
  • A scalable backend architecture designed to support future city and domain expansion

Our team worked iteratively with PathoraHub Ventures including a detailed platform explainer document and a comprehensive test dataset built specifically to validate Horizon's club recommendation AI to ensure the platform's recommendation logic was accurate, relevant, and resistant to false-positive matches before launch.

/// Platform Experience

A structured, interest-first community experience. Horizon was designed to help members find their people through what they care about not just who they already know.

Members can:

  • Discover clubs and ecosystems aligned with their genuine interests private support spaces
  • Join curated communities across thirteen interest domains
  • Participate in real-world events and experiences, starting with Travel & Lifestyle and Events & Occasions
  • Progress through membership tiers as their engagement deepens
  • Connect with other members through shared interest graphs rather than generic social matching
  • Explore a Bengaluru-first network built to expand into new cities

The interface is designed to keep discovery intentional and curated, helping members build focused, meaningful community connections rather than passively scrolling a feed.

/// The Result

The result is a purpose-built interest-graph community platform structured for genuine, interest-first connection rather than generic social networking.

Horizon launched Bengaluru-first with a curated selection of clubs and ecosystems across its initial priority domains, supported by a four-tier membership model and an interest-graph recommendation system built to surface relevant clubs with precision.

The platform now enables:

  • Structured discovery across thirteen interest domains
  • Tiered membership access aligned with member engagement
  • Club and ecosystem-level community management
  • AI-powered club recommendations validated against adversarial and false-friend test cases
  • A scalable foundation for expansion into new cities and domains

By combining a strong interest-graph data model with a curated, city-first launch strategy, Horizon gives PathoraHub Ventures a platform built to grow deliberately rather than chase generic scale.
