ISKCON Mayapur – Pilgrim Booking Platform
A booking platform built for ISKCON Mayapur, letting pilgrims and visitors from around the world book their stay online, with availability kept accurate through the festival periods when demand peaks.
Overview
ISKCON Mayapur, in West Bengal, is the world headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in India. Sodio built a booking platform that lets pilgrims and visitors book their stay online.
The platform takes visitors from choosing their dates to a confirmed booking in one flow: check availability, select accommodation, provide guest details, complete payment and receive confirmation. For the team running accommodation, every booking arrives in one system with a clear view of occupancy and upcoming arrivals.
Demand at Mayapur is shaped by the festival calendar. Major festivals bring visitors from across India and around the world at the same time, and rooms that sit available for months can fill in days. The platform was built to keep availability accurate through those peaks, so the same room is never booked twice.

/// The Brief
ISKCON Mayapur receives visitors from all over the world, and many plan their journey around a festival or a particular date. They needed a straightforward way to book their stay in advance, with a confirmation they could rely on before travelling a long distance.
The brief was a booking platform that was simple for visitors of every background and every level of familiarity with technology, dependable during festival demand, and easy for the accommodation team to manage day to day.
/// Our Approach
We built the booking flow for the widest possible range of visitors. Many are travelling from abroad, some are unfamiliar with booking online, and all of them need certainty before they set out. Each step asks only for what is needed, and confirmation arrives as soon as a booking is complete.
Availability was the core technical concern. When bookings open for a major festival, many people try to reserve the same limited rooms at once, and a system that checks availability too loosely will sell the same room twice. Rooms are held while a visitor completes checkout and released cleanly if they do not, so what a visitor sees as available is genuinely available.
For the accommodation team, bookings, guest details and occupancy sit in one place, with a clear view of who is arriving and when. That turns festival periods into something the team can plan for rather than a scramble to reconcile reservations.
/// The Result
The result is a booking platform that lets ISKCON Mayapur’s visitors and pilgrims book their stay online with confidence, and gives the accommodation team one place to manage it.
Visitors can plan their journey knowing their accommodation is confirmed. During festival periods, when demand is highest, availability stays accurate and bookings do not collide.
It is a project where the technology matters because of what it supports: a simple, reliable way for people travelling a long way for something meaningful to know that a place is waiting for them when they arrive
