Education Software and LMS Development
Learning platforms, eLearning apps and school systems for institutions, training providers and EdTech founders, built for teachers who have twenty minutes to learn them and students on whatever device they own.
TRUSTED BY TEAMS
Sodio builds education software: learning management systems, eLearning and education apps, school management, student information systems, virtual classrooms, assessment platforms and smart campus, plus education AI for grading, tutoring and at-risk prediction.
Education software has two constraints most sectors do not. It runs on the academic calendar, so a system for September has to work before September. And it is used by teachers with almost no time to learn it, on whatever device a student already owns.
/// WHAT MAKES EDUCATION SOFTWARE DIFFERENT
The Term Starts Whether You Are Ready or Not
The Established Platforms
Moodle, Canvas and the established platforms handle standard course delivery well, and for most institutions that is the right answer. We will say so during discovery rather than quote for a build nobody needs.
Where Custom Work Fits
Custom work earns its place where the teaching model does not fit the tool — unusual cohort structures, assessment rules the platform cannot express, accreditation reporting it does not produce, or an EdTech product where the learning platform is the business rather than an internal system.
The Academic Calendar
The delivery constraint is unlike any other sector. A system built for September has to be working before September, because institutions will not switch mid-term and the next window is a year away. We plan around term dates rather than sprint dates, and we say which windows matter before starting.
Teacher Adoption
Adoption is decided by teachers, not by procurement. A platform bought centrally and disliked by staff gets worked around, and the data it produces stops being trustworthy. Anything that adds minutes to a teacher's week has to remove more than it adds.
Connectivity Is Not a Given
And connectivity is not a given. Students use whatever device they have, on whatever connection they have. Lessons need to work offline, progress needs to sync when a connection returns, and video needs to degrade rather than stall — or the platform excludes exactly the students it was meant to reach.

///AI FOR EDUCATION
AI for Education
Education AI is worth building where it gives teachers time back or catches a student before they disengage. Every model here keeps an educator in the decision, because a confident wrong answer does more damage in a classroom than anywhere else.
Automated Grading & Feedback
Marking at scale with feedback a student can act on, and a teacher review step before anything is released.
AI Tutoring & Learning Assistants
One-to-one support grounded in your own course material, with limits on what it will answer and when it defers.
Adaptive Learning Paths
Sequencing built on what a learner has actually mastered rather than on the order the syllabus happens to list.
Dropout & At-Risk Prediction
Which students are disengaging, early enough for an intervention to change the outcome.
Course Content Generation
Turning existing material into structured lessons, summaries and question banks, with an educator approving each one.
Exam Proctoring & Integrity AI
Remote assessment integrity with flagged review rather than automated accusation, and a clear appeals path.
Speech & Language Learning AI
Pronunciation scoring and conversation practice for language learning, with feedback tuned to the learner's level.

/// HOW WE WORK
How We Work on Education Projects
Teaching and calendar discovery
We map how teaching actually runs — cohorts, assessment rules, reporting obligations — and which term dates the project has to hit. The academic calendar constrains everything, so it comes first.
Free solution architecture
Data model, integration approach per system, offline strategy, accessibility requirements and a costed delivery plan aligned to term dates. Yours to keep whether or not you build with us — including if the answer is to buy a platform.
MVP in 30 days
One teaching workflow end to end with real course material — enrol, deliver, assess, report — tested by teachers rather than administrators.
Production build in 90 days
Full build with integrations, accessibility and reporting. Rollout is phased by department or cohort, never mid-term across an institution.

/// FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Usually you should not, and we will say so. The established platforms handle standard course delivery well. Custom work earns its place when your teaching model does not fit the tool — unusual cohort structures, assessment rules the platform cannot express, accreditation reporting it does not produce, or an EdTech product where the learning platform is the business rather than an internal system. That last case is the most common engagement we see.
It has to, and it shapes the architecture rather than being handled afterwards. Lessons need to download for offline use, progress must queue and sync when a connection returns, and video needs to degrade gracefully rather than stall. A platform that assumes campus wi-fi excludes exactly the students it was meant to reach.
Accurate and consistent on structured work — multiple choice, code, numerical answers, and short responses with clear criteria. Less reliable on extended writing, where it can assess structure and coverage but not originality or argument. We build it as a first pass with teacher review before results are released, which saves most of the marking time without handing judgement to a model.
Not if it is grounded in your material. The model should answer from your course content rather than from general knowledge, decline questions outside that scope, and hand off to a teacher when it is uncertain. Ungrounded tutors answer confidently and sometimes wrongly, and in education a confident wrong answer is worse than no answer at all.
Usually. Most modern student information systems and learning platforms expose APIs or support LTI, SCORM and xAPI for content and grade exchange. Older institutional systems sometimes mean scheduled data exchange instead. We establish what your specific installation permits during discovery rather than assuming from vendor documentation.
For a defined scope we target a working MVP in 30 days and a core production build in 90. Education has one constraint most sectors do not: the academic calendar. A system for September has to be ready before September, and institutions rarely accept a mid-term switchover. We plan around term dates rather than the project calendar.
